Art, Beauty & Lifestyle By Latina Creators

As we celebrate a month long of Latinx creators and innovators, today we want to put the spotlight on some Latina entrepreneurs that place cultural celebration in all of their creations. This is one of my favorite topics to share Latina entrepreneurship. Let me start with these to friends, Christina & Ann.

VAMIGAS

These to Amigas were determined to create a clean skincare brand that used pure ingredients, was ethically sourced and used century old ingredients found in 20 botanicals throughout Latin America. They are fresh and new on the scene, and now you could find them at Nordstrom and HSN.

Their stand-out products are the Luz del Sur, a hydrating Oil great for your morning routine. It includes acai, prickly pear that leaves your skin hydrated and prepared to start the day. Also, the Rosa Mosqueta, from the Andean plains of Chile, this is a treatment that is great for your nighttime routine.

Art by Anna Alvarado

Anna Alvarado is my home girl from West Covina, she always finds a way to empower and celebrate her Mexican Roots through her art, creating beautiful pieces that highlight inspiring pieces speaking to the power and resilience of the culture. Most recently she illustrated the art for the book GRANDES DREAMERS a book that features 12 Latina Trailblazers that have made their mark in history.

Te Lo Juro Collective

Te Lo Juro Collective started by Edith Gutierrez-Hawbaker from Argentina by the way. Created a collective where artist are united to celebrate culture through fashion and art. The main objective being to create but also to contribute back to the communities giving back 20%. Te Lo Juro Tee shirt was also the creator for the famous Walter Mercado Mucho Mucho Amor tee-shirts that were in the official documentary about Walter Mercado on Netflix. The great thing is that this collaboration of art pieces donates back to several Latino focused organizations including Momento Latino, Urban Arts, Hispanic Federation Unidos & Latinas contra el cancer.

Wearable Art by Gladis Alejandre

Gladis Alejandre is an educator and artist who won accolades for her own rendition of Frida Kahlo paintings. Gladis creates beautiful wearable art that we can find in denim jackets, flannel shirts, fedoras. All perfect for this Fall into Winter Weather. Gladis truly aims to celebrate and keep the culture alive through her wearable art. Some of her art is also found in two public places, one in Glendale and the other in Azusa.
